On August 25, 2026, the City of Niagara Falls distributed a Notice of Passing concerning amendments to its Community Improvement Plan. The notice stated that an Ontario Land Tribunal appeal required a filing fee of $1,100, potentially reducible to $400. However, the OLT’s detailed fee chart identifies this specific type of appeal as having “No Charges.”
After I raised the issue and subsequently filed a complaint with the Ontario Ombudsman, the City issued a modified notice. Although it corrected the statutory reference, removed the dollar amounts and extended the appeal deadline, the modified notice continued to imply that an OLT filing fee applies.
On September 5, I submitted the following renewed correction request. It provides the complete chronology, supporting information and corrective measures I have requested from the City.
